Groupon’s Jeff Holden Is the New Chief Product Officer of Uber

Rapidly expanding Uber hired recently Jeff Holden as its Chief Product Officer. Holden comes from Groupon where he served as Senior Vice President of Product Development since 2011.At that time, Groupon bought his startup company, Pelago, a location-based social product allowing people to find places of interest in their cities.

Jeff Holden UberHolden also brings about a decade of experience in supply chain and software development at Amazon. According to Travis Kalanick, Uber’s CEO, Holden is the right man for the job, a perfect fit for Uber’s fast-paced entrepreneurial culture:

“Having experienced Amazon’s hyper-growth from the very early days, Jeff knows how to think big while building for the long-term and scaling a world-class product organization. Holden’s experience could help Uber boost its app’s tools while his entrepreneurial spirit can propel its aggressive growth plans even further.

Uber operates in more than 60 cities around the world and counting. Recently it reported launching in such large metropolitan areas as Shanghai and Moscow.

To fuel its ambitions growth plans, the company has been following an aggressive talent acquisition strategy. Only six months ago, TechCrunch reported that Uber hired Brent Callinicos from Google as its new CFO, Ed Baker from Facebook as its new Head of Growth, and Emil Michael from Klout as its new VP of Business. Holden is the latest addition to this dynamic team.
